Giant 2-3 inch double blossoms bloom in profusion atop tall 3-5 ft plants. Flowers range in color from lemon yellow to deep golden and, while edible, are mostly used as a natural dye plant to produce various shades of gold with the dried or fresh flowers. For eating use the fresh petals as a garnish on salads. Marigold is a great companion plant in the veggie garden to attract beneficial insects and pollinators.
